We are proud of our Youth Development program and that our ‘more senior’ juniors stay on at Nippers to mentor our younger members.
Palm Beach SLSC provides a Youth Development program aimed at the U14 – U17 age groups as a progression from Nippers.
The program provides additional skills to benefit our juniors becoming competent surf lifesavers that patrol our beaches, as they become strong citizens within our community.
Through our Surf Rescue Certificate, Bronze Medallion, First Aid, IRB Crewing and Leadership Courses, we offer life skills such as teamwork, communication, mentoring and leadership training that will help with future employment opportunities.
Part of our youth program are also monthly social outings during season to develop friendships and ensure our youth enjoy their time at Palm Beach SLSC and the great community club they are part of.
Some outings in the past seasons have included:
- Indoor rock climbing
- Aqua Splash
- Movie and pizza night in our dorm
- Treetops Adventure Challenge
- Visit to SLSQ Rescue Helicopter
- Gold Coast Youth Development Ball
Further to beach safety, our Club provides a high calibre of coaching in the areas of board paddle, surf ski, swimming and beach running so our juniors can master the craft of surf lifesaving. Our seniors and masters members greatly assist in developing the skills and capabilities of our youth and at the same time, build a sustainable future for our club.

Palm Beach SLSC were awarded Runner Up in Youth Club Of The Year on the Gold Coast in both the 21-22 and 22-23 seasons!
