It is a requirement of Surf Life Saving Australia that all patrolling members 18 years or over, and volunteers working in an official role with children, must hold a current Blue Card; Queensland\u2019s \u2018Working with children\u2019 check. More Details HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you do not have a current Blue Card, or you need to renew<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit the Blue Card Online Application Portal<\/strong> https:\/\/my.bluecard.qld.gov.au\/login<\/a>. Please have a QLD Drivers Licence or Customer Reference Number<\/a> to hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have any issues, you can refer to this Quick Reference Guide to Online Blue Card Submission<\/a> to assist you with the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have started your application, you will be sent an email asking to link to your Volunteer Organisation. Complete this form and include the number given to you by Blue Card Services to be linked to Palm Beach Qld. https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/SLSQBCSLink<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SLSQ will then link your application to our club. Wait to receive an updated email from Blue Card Services to then complete your application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if I already have a Blue Card?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already have a Blue Card, please complete this form to send the details to SLSQ to link to Palm Beach Qld SLSC. https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/SLSQBCSLink<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a teacher\/police officer, can I get an Exemption?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, but you must apply for an Exemption Blue Card.<\/em>
Registered teachers and police officers remain exempt from requiring a Blue Card as part of their professional duties. However, when providing services which fall outside of these duties, visit your Blue Card Portal and apply for an exemption Blue Card https:\/\/my.bluecard.qld.gov.au\/login<\/a>
Then asked to be linked to Palm Beach Qld SLSC using the same survey as above. https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/SLSQBCSLink<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that I have my Blue Card, do I need to do anything else?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes please. Just a little bit of online training. The Child Safe Training <\/strong>is required to be undertaken by every member who holds a Blue Card. The training is conducted online and only takes approximately 10-20 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I complete the training? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Login to your SLSA Members Portal<\/a>, click the ‘Applications’ tab at the top of the screen and then select \u2018e-Learning\u2019. Tip:<\/strong> when you click eLearning<\/strong> for the first time this season from your Members Portal, you will be asked to log in again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the dashboard, you will either see a green tick or red cross in the ‘Membership Check:’ area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If green, the course tile to the right should also be green, meaning you are accredited (no action required). If red, your Child Safety award is not current. Complete the course online by clicking ‘Child Safety Modules’ with the red icon (or the ‘Child Safety Modules’ course tile that is blue and white on the right-hand side).<\/p>\n\n\n
